Q: Why use the sealing tape, when it increases the cost of window installation?

A: The main problems arising from the installation of a window is its wind-proofness and penetration of moisture into the window joint in the cold weather, affecting the freeze-resistance of the whole structure. Window sealing tapes keep the window wind-proof from the outside, and if also using a vapour barrier tape from the inside, the thermal insulation will function properly.

Q: Can I install a window also on a rainy day?

A: Yes, you can. Water and moisture even promote and accelerate the foam curing process, but of course, in a heavy rain you should not start replacing a window, because the bonding of the foam decreases on a surface covered with water.

Q: Is it necessary to cover the foam sprayed into a window joint?

A: Since cured polyurethane foam is not resistant to long-term exposure to UV and sunlight and decays in the long run by the action of the sun, it is definitely necessary. Cured foam can be covered for example with paint or beads. Excessive fresh foam can be removed with acetone, cured foam mechanically.

A: Preferably 1-3 cm, because joints with this width are easier to close after the foam work. A gun foam stays well also in a joint, which is 8 cm wide, the applicator foam in a joint, which is 5 cm wide.

Yes it is, but in this case you should use the professional foam, which hardens at temperatures below zero.

As a rule, when using a regular foam, the air temperature should be around +5 to +30°C, with the best results at +23°C. During the application, the temperature of the cartridge should be +10 to +25°C, the best results at +23°C. When the temperature is too low, the foam will harden longer, but working with the foam in too hot weather is also not good - the foam may not stay in the joint and could shrink too much.
